The Optex OA-Axis series is the new automatic door standard for use on sliding doors based on active infrared technique. The OA-Axis series is developed as a combination sensor for threshold safety and activation. The OA-Axis T is in compliance with the latest European and local regulations as prEN-12650 and DIN-18650, tested and approved by the German test organisation TÜV. Due to its variety in output options the OA-Axis series meets the requirements in various markets.

Combination

The Optex OA-Axis series is the world first door sensor based on only active infrared technique, combining activation and safety into one sensor. By using the unique Optex presence detection technique the OA-Axis series provides maximum safety, around the threshold and offers at the same time a large motion detection area for the door activation.

Safety

The active infrared presence detection of the OA-Axis series can be set very accurately and can be moved 6° towards or away from the door. The installation of safety beams is no longer mandatory. The sensor detects a person or object and holds the door open as long as they are in or near the threshold area, even if they stop or pause. The Optex OA-Axis T is tested and approved by the German test organization TÜV and in compliance with the German DIN 18650 and the preliminary European Norm prEn 12650.

Motion detection

The large detection area provides fast detection for any traffic, including trolleys, approaching from any angle. The sensor’s enhanced pattern depth enables it to detect people and objects farther away and allows the door to open conveniently for them. The presence and motion detection area’s can be adjusted independently.

Variety

By offering different types of output contacts the OA-Axis series meets the requirements and local standards in many different markets.
OA-Axis I: 1 relay output for activation and safety.
OA-Axis II: 1 relay for safety and a second relay for motion/activation
OA-Axis T: 1 relay for motion and activation and an Opto coupler (NPN) in/output for safety.

Easy adjustment: Installation time can be reduced to a minimum by using easily set switches and shutters, therefor the sensor can be quickly adjusted for many different applications. To adjust the presence detection area the use of an Optex Infrared finder is recommended.

Quality

Optex automatic door sensors guarantee premium performance and include a 3-year full replacement warranty.

Side screen safety

The OA-Presence T can be used as a side screen safety sensor. By installing the sensor at the rear end of the door the OA-Presence T will secure the side screen area and prevent the doors from hitting someone or something during the opening cycle of the door.

Treshold Safety

The Optex OA-Presence T is the ideal sensor for threshold safety used in combination with external activators like push buttons, security systems or any kind of activation sensor. By using the OA-Presence T the threshold is completely secured and prevents the door from closing when it is open or during the closing cycle.

Presence detection

The active infrared presence detection of the OA-Presence T can be set very accurately and moved 5° towards or away from the door. When used as a threshold safety sensor the installation of safety beams is no longer mandatory. The sensor detects a person or object and holds the door open as long as they are in the threshold area, even if they stop or pause. The Optex OA-Presence T is tested and approved by the German test organization TÜV and in compliance with the DIN-18650, the preliminary European norm prEN-2650.

Recessed mount

By installing the OA-Presence T on an mounting bracket (to be supplied by the door manufacturer) it is easy to integrate the sensor into the header of the door operator. The sensor is accessible from the bottom so installation and settings can be made without removing the operator’s cover.

Easy installation

The Optex OA-Presence is simple to install. All the settings are mechanically adjustable with dipswitch and levers.

Safety

The Optex OA-Presence can serve as an extra threshold safety to prevent early closing of the door. Besides, there is also the possibility to position the sensor to create extra safety against pinch off near the door leaf during the opening movement. In both cases the sensor detects persons or objects as long as they are in the threshold area, even if they stop or pause. As threshold safety, the sensor will order the door to open until the person or object has left the area. In case of safety behind the door leaf, the sensor will send a contact to the device, where after the automatic door can be sent, for instance, into a slow mode function.

Design

A very compact and slim design, available in three colors: Black, Silver and White.

All conditions

Snow mode and variable sensitivity adjustments make this sensor suitable for every application and even extreme weather conditions.

Quality

Optex automatic door sensors guarantee premium performance and include a 3-year full replacement warranty.

The narrow setting is easy to set by just clicking the narrow lens on to the radar module. By turning the module left or right and tilting it up and down the microwave can be adjusted quick and simple for many different applications. No external set-up device is needed.

Swing door activation

When installed above the pivot the Optex OM-106C will ignore the door movement of a swing door. Therefore it is ideal to install as swing door activation sensor.

Auto-Caution mode

The Auto-Caution Mode guarantees more reliability to prevent the door from closing, even if a person is wavering in the detection area. The sensor will immediately change from uni directional to multi directional for safety purposes. This function is only available on the OM-106C.

Uni-directional setting

The OM-106C is equipped with a dipswitch for uni directional or bi directional mode. By selecting the uni directional mode the sensor will only detect traffic approaching the door, allowing the door to close more quickly for departing traffic. Fast closing of doors offers a large benefit for the end user, because the doors will stay open for a limited time and therefore they will contribute to saving energy.

Quality

Optex automatic door sensors guarantee premium performance and include a 3-year full replacement warranty.
